Third-party content
Interactive maps include tile imagery provided by OpenStreetMap contributors, which is licensed under the Open Database License. When you reuse views from the interactive maps, please retain OpenStreetMap attribution where visible.
Accuracy of information
We work to keep geographic data, statistics, and reference tables accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee that every figure on every page reflects the latest available release. Populations, economic data, and administrative boundaries are drawn from public sources and are updated periodically. If you find an error, please report it through the Contact page; we apply corrections promptly once they are verified.
The site is provided for general reference and education. It is not a substitute for authoritative sources for legal, financial, electoral, real-estate, navigational, or emergency purposes. Do not use information from this site to navigate in the field, plan aviation or marine routes, make legal or tax decisions, or take any action where accuracy to the latest minute matters.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the site will be free of errors, that defects will be corrected, or that any server hosting the site is free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Map United States and its editors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the site — whether based on contract, tort, strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site shall not exceed USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.
